MAKING HISTORY
Sherri Jefferson is the first attorney in U.S. history to sue a State Bar for racial discrimination in its admission and disciplinary proceedings. Jefferson challenges the false statements, false charges, and fabricated evidence used to subject her to a default judgment and order of discipline. The ruling falsely accused Sherri Jefferson. This practice has been used against other Black lawyers to subject them to deprivation of their law license or specific state admission. Jefferson has challenged this matter in the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Georgia.
